A watercolor using passionate colors to represent how I feel about my Anishinaabe Ancestors who are buried near this location.
Road to Anishinaabe Ancestors, Passionate Colors uses more expressive hues inspired by the faint but beautiful prismatic colors around the winter sun barely peeking through on a cloudy, snowy day. I was thinking about the lives of my ancestors who are buried in this traditional Ojibwe cemetery on the Keweenaw Bay Indian Reservation. This is the second of two paintings. The first was done with more accurate monochromatic colors and can be found here.
