Shining Birches at Lake Junction is a 12X16 original transparent watercolor painted from a photo taken on an art trip to Clare County’s Lake Junction on a beautiful fall Mid-Michigan day.
I love the way the birches appear so graceful and seem to shine with reflected light against the darker autumn forest. I’ve been meaning to do a painting based on the photo I had taken almost 20 years ago. Later I found out my wife had lived in Lake Junction while I was there. I like to think that we must have crossed paths because I often stopped at Lake Junction after dropping off my boys in Reed City.
