Skandia Centennial Farm is an original 6 X 9 plein air watercolor done from my vehicle in the mid nineties.
The paper size is a bit larger than 6X9 and forms a slim border around the painting.
Painted is Skandia in Marquette County, Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, on a cold winter day. I think the watercolor holds up well after all of these years. I remember that cat snoozing in the barn’s window, soaking up the winter sun. This has always been one of my favorite paintings, and one of my first plein air. I would love someone to have it who can appreciate a little bit of winter on a farm in Marquette County. I sometimes wonder if that barn and farm is still there?
