White Pine Michigan is a 9X12 original transparent watercolor of a totem pole highlighted by a sunset in this small mining town in the deep woods of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
White Pine Michigan
In 1967, My father got a job at the White Pine Copper Pine. I only lived there from second through fourth grade but some of my favorite childhood memories are from this small mining town. White Pine was laid out like a suburb but was isolated in the deep woods of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
A few years ago I brought my wife to White Pine. The mine has been closed for years and the population has dwindled. I was pleasantly surprised that the totem pole was still standing, a brand new feature of this village when we moved there.
