Alf was appointed Chief Commercial Officer and Chair for China and Japan in 2021. He retired from the CCO position at the end of August 2024. Alf joined ÌÇÐÄvlogÈë¿Úin 2014 as Chief Executive, Aluminium. He has over 30 years of global experience in the resources sector across operations, commercial, strategy, and business development. As Chair of the countries covering around 70% of Rio Tinto’s revenue, home to major suppliers and joint venture partners in our mining assets, and a major shareholder, Alf is responsible for representing the company externally, as well as the strategic direction and oversight of all our activities there.
